I joined band in the 5th and to be completely honest, I can't even rember why I joined it. But I am very glad I did because it has made me think really hard. Many people may think that it's just a blow off class and you do nothing, but that is so far from the truth. You have to actually work hard. It has given me a chance to learn more about music. Sometimes you just listen to a song on the radio and just listen to lyrics and the beat. Most people don't take the time to actually admire the good quality of the song. They don't admire the melody or try to figure out what instruments are playing to make up the song. They just think it's all computerized. Nowadays, most are, but here, in band we mst certainly aren't. We all have to work together as a band to make our songs sound good. If one section falls, then another section steps in to help. That's what I love about band. It brings us all closer as a family. In other classes. we just sit next to people and don't talk unless they are our friends. But that's not the case here. We all talk here, our sections, and our whole band. Most of us have been here since 5th grade, which gave us a chance to get to know them before high school. Band is by far my favorite class. It's not only a fun class, but it's also an educational one too.
I love to do a lot of things in my spare time. I love to hang out with friends, watch Netflix, read, and just to walk around and think. Back in grade school, I would do like every single sport, but now I just do cheerleading. When you get into high school, you have to basically live and breathe what sport you are in. You have either a practice or a game every single day and don't get home until like 10pm. Last year I was just in volleyball and cheerleading and it was absolutely horrible. As soon as volleyball ended, cheerleading started and I had no time for anything. But now, I'm just in cheerleading and I have a ton of free time.
